Coupon Door, 2019

Coupon Door is comprised of collected and donated coupon books from the artist's home and neighbors in McKinley Park and Brighton Park. Coupon books, in their plastic sleeves, are manipulated onto a steel door frame to create architectural columns and ornamentation reminiscent of the doors at which these papers arrive. Audience members are invited to walk through the entry's threshold and examine local deals.

Coupon Door was exhibited at the Ingersoll-Blackwelder Mansion by the Beverly Arts Alliance as part of the 2019 Beverly Art Walk, curated by Sal Campbell.

 Coupon Drawer, 2020

This work is comprised of collected and donated coupon books from my home and neighbors in McKinley Park and Brighton Park. Coupon books and their plastic sleeves are manipulated onto a single drawer situated within a partly destroyed and well-loved dresser. The work is active and growing as distributors continue to contribute local deals on a weekly basis.

Coupon Drawer is on view in Gallery 3 of Happy Gallery Chicago’s “STILL RELEVANT” virtual show.

In collaboration with CNL Projects and Terrain Exhibitions, Coupon Drawer was on view at the artist’s residence for the 2020 ART-IN-PLACE citywide public art project from May 20, 2021 - June 20, 2021.
